Free Comic Book Day 2012 T-Shirt Logo!

Its just around the corner...Free Comic Book 2012 is Saturday May 5th and this year's T-shirt design is by the always amazing Jim "Justice League" Lee himself! This years FCBD shirt design is described by DC Comics as "an homage to a classic piece by José Luis García-López, re-imagined with Jim’s redesign of the Justice League for DC Comics - the New 52."
Anyone recognize the comic book pages the League is standing upon???

They sell t-shirts on this day? I have never seen them before.

I find it ironic that it has that "Hey kids! Comics" vibe, when none of the New 52 are appropriate for children.

@E2 Chris--I take your point.

And while I am constantly beating the drum for more kid-appropriate comics, I'm not sure saying "none" of the New 52 books are suitable for a kids is totally fair...I'd say Justice League isn't too bad, the violence in it being mostly cartoonish and fantasy-style stuff, no real blood and guts.

I haven't been reading all (or even most) of the books, but there are some other ones like OMAC, Justice League International, and a couple others I wouldn't have a problem giving to my 12-yr old nephew, which (to me) is superhero comics' target audience. Or should be, anyway.

Couldn't disagree more. Kids don't read comics anymore, they play video games.
The target age for comics is 20-40 year old men and probably has been for the past 20 years.
They're never going to recapture that audience, so they might as well cater to their demographic.
I don't read kiddie comics for the same reason I don't go to G-rated movies. I'm an adult and would like to read adult material.

I'm not saying some comics shouldn't be geared towards adults. But the fact is there can be a balance achieved. Look at any of Bruce Timm's animated series. Fine for kids, but still with enough depth to keep adults intrigued. It can be done.

Well I'm 15, and have been reading comics for as long as I can remember. Although I didn't start reading non-back issues until a couple years back. I definitly wouldn't say comics are geared for 20-40 year olds, but I understand what you're saying. BTW...I'll take any of you on some DC knowledge. :)
