I've decided to ring in some changes to the Shrine in 2011; The Random Panel of The Day will no longer be a daily-at-12:03pm feature; rather, they will appear a lot more...randomly, at least for a while.

But to help fill the gap, I've decided to convert the Bonk! Bonk! On The Head feature from a usual year-end serialized collection of cranial misadventures to one-off shots like this...after all, what makes these hits to the head so damaging (for Aquaman, at least) is that they come so unexpectedly!

Bonk! Bonk! On The Head - Golden Age Edition

Since I wrapped up 2008 with the first and (or so I thought) last installment of what I called "Bonk! Bonk! On the Head", featuring nothing but shots of bad guys' seemingly favorite method getting Aquaman out of the way, I figured why not do the same thing for the Shrine's final post of 2009?

But this time, we're limiting just to the cranial damage inflicted on the Golden Age Aquaman:

As you can see, most of the time the bad guy in question just used a gun. But occasionally they had to get really creative:

But of course, eventually they went back to knocking out Aquaman old-school:

...but that's really the exception that proves the rule. Looking over these stories, I'm amazed the Golden Age Aquaman was ever able to stand up straight!

Bonk! Bonk! On The Head

I had been trying to think of a good post to wrap up the year for a long while, but for the longest time nothing ever came to me.

And then a light bulb went off over my head--shots of Aquaman getting bonked on the head!
