The Arthur

F.O.A.M.er Tyrone Biljan found this pillow, called "The Arthur" for sale at a Toronto designer furniture store, retailing for the kingly amount of $175! I have to say, I really dig it, it reminds me of the bold, thick-lined graphics seen during the opening credits to the first incarnation of Super Friends.

Any Aqua-Fan is bound to sleep well with this beauty, thanks Tyrone!

Aquaman’s Spanish Vacation

My pal Dan Greenfield (editor of 13thDimension.com, for which I write a movie review column) recently took a trip to Spain, and the King of the Seven Seas went along for the ride! Check out this superhero team-up over at 13thDimension.com!

Aquaman and Mera Plate by Luke Daab

Check out this nifty Aquaman and Mera plate, featuring even niftier artwork by our own uber-talented Luke Daab! According to Luke, only two of these beauties were made, one of which went to F.O.A.M.er Emeritus Russell Burbage, with the second one for me! What a bunch of pals, I love it!

Aquaman Party!

This Aqua-Party is the work of newest F.O.A.M.er Mark Burkett, who explains what we're seeing: "In the first attached photo you will see our themed food: A delicious hummus and pepper Topo, candy fish sushi, our friend Porm in blue Atlantean Jello, goldfish in a custom made Aquaman bowl, and lastly a delicious Aquaman cake moist enough to turn the most ardent Batman or Superman fan into a devoted disciple of Aquaman. We then watched the hit 1967 Aquaman TV series and discussed the finer points of Aquaman lore."

Sounds great, why wasn't I invited? Thanks Mark, and welcome to F.O.A.M.!

Body Paint Mera

An artist named Kayleen Pike has been creating amazing body-painted versions of Mera, Dove, and other comic characters. I'm just posting this single image because of the video of the Mera model moving might be considered NSFW, depending. So you can see it--and more--here on Patreon. Amazing stuff!

Aqua-Scarves by Helena Petersen

Check out these nifty custom-made Aqua-Scarves, perfect for these cold winter months!

Pictured are Conor and Rick Petersen, sons of F.O.A.M.er Jeff Petersen and his wife Helena, who made these scarves. Aquaman is a pretty big deal around the Petersen household when it's birthday time, and this year was no exception!

Jeff asked me if these scarves meant Helena could enter "the hallowed halls of F.O.A.M.", and the answer is, of course, yes! Thanks for the pics guys, and Helena welcome to F.O.A.M.!

Aquaman Balloon Animal

The King of the Seven Seas can take on many foes, but must be careful of his own pointy trident!

Spotted at the 2015 Denver Comicon by F.O.A.M.er Kevin Elman!

Custom AquaGirl Figure

I am really digging this custom AquaGirl action figure, done in the Bruce Timm/JLU style. It's made by GeekVarietyDotCom, and you can see more of their work on DeviantArt!

Atlanteans Fantasy Football

Newest F.O.A.M. member JB Burton sent in these pics of an actual fantasy (weird, putting those two words together) football team called the Atlanteans, decked out in Aquaman's colors! I don't know anything about real football, let alone the fantasy version, so I assume this is a team someone could use if they wanted? All I do know know is, they have a heated rivalry with with Milwaukee Mantas.

This is probably the only football player who would like getting doused with a bucket of cold water after the game.

Thanks JB, and welcome to F.O.A.M.!

Aquaman 100 Page Super Spectacular

sg
Oh man if only this were real! This Aquaman 100 Page Super Spectacular custom cover is the work of Rich Fowlks, who is part of TwoMorrows' Back Issue! magazine, which has had the dubious distinction of publishing some of my articles. I would have bought ten copies of this off the newsstand...

Who's Who Mego Custom Box

This drool-worthy custom Mego box is the work of F.O.A.M.er Anthony Durso, who is a genius at this stuff. He worked up a whole mini-line of Who's Who-branded boxes (Superman, Batman, Captain Marvel), all of them a pure pleasure to look at. I want this so bad!

Human Flying Fish Custom Mego

sg
Check out this amazing Human Flying Fish doll, made by the Mego customizer known on the Mego Museum message boards as Megowgsh (aka Austin). With his grim visage, the Human Flying Fish strikes fear into the heart of superheroes everywhere!

Actually, no he doesn't, that's ridiculous, as is this character. But I'd still buy this if it was actually for sale, Austin did such a great job--he looks like he flew right out of a Ramona Fradon panel!

Bootleg Lego Aqualad

sg
Courtesy F.O.A.M.er Eric Stettmeier is this pic of a bootleg Aqualad Lego mini figurine, made in Japan by the company known as ShengYuan. This nifty little guy is part of a whole set of Teen Titans mini-figs, go check them out over on Eric's blog Toyriffic. Thanks Eric!

Aquaman Bead Figurine

sg
This adorable little Aquaman bead figurine is from the collection of newest F.O.A.M. member Michelle Hosier, who received it as a gift from her kids (it currently hangs from her car mirror, which probably gets her out of traffic tickets).

Michelle says she always wear Aquaman t-shirts to cons, and gets comments from at least another Aqua-Fan. She also sent this picture of her own personal Aquaman Shrine, which she describes as "a work in progress":

sg
Michelle, you're off to a good start! Thanks for the email, and welcome to F.O.A.M.!

Aquaman Captain Action Mash-Up

sg
F.O.A.M. member and all-around good egg Ed Catto sent in this pic, from the Captain Action Facebook Page's "Monday Mash-Up" contest, where CA fans send in custom dolls made up of old and new parts. Even though this Aquaman looks kinda mad and ready for battle, it's obvious he's relaxing on some sort of beach chair and towel, so this is the Sea King on vacation.

Thanks Ed!

Custom Super Powers Aqua-Ski-Doo

sg
F.O.A.M.er Chuck "D.C" Dill was always perturbed at Aquaman's lack of vehicle in the Super Powers Collection, so he made one himself with a little marker and a lot of creativity!

Based on the Sea King's custom Ski-Doo from Super Friends, Chuck borrowed a toy from another line of action figures and tricked it out with Aquaman's official Trademark of Justice! Great job Chuck, where do I send in my Proofs of Purchase to get it?

Aqua-Birthday Cake

sg
F.O.A.M.er David Cutler sent in pics of this amazing birthday cake, made for him by his friend and professional baker Stacie Newcombe. That is David on the right, drowning...but about to be saved by Lego Aquaman! I'd almost be afraid to eat this, it's so beautiful. Almost.

Thanks for sharing David!

AquaStorm Heroclix

sg
For those of you who listen to The Fire and Water Podcast (or, more specifically, our side project, Who's Who: The Definitive Podcast of the DC Universe) you know that my co-host The Irredeemable Shag and I tend to rag on the villain known as The Composite Superman. Something about the concept and look of the character struck as ridiculous, and we made him our duly designated punching bag, show after show, especially after the show's vocal fanbase started to defend him.

Well, F.O.A.M.er Gene Hendricks took it one step further, making this pair of custom Heroclix figures: a half Aquaman/half Firestorm being known as...Aquastorm!

At first, I really wondered if this was a real character in the Heroclix universe (what were the odds?!?), but Gene assured this is his own insane creation. Not only was it extremely generous of him to send us these, but the craftsmanship is also quite good: I mean, to my eyes, this looks no more silly than the Composite Superman! Though I don't know how Aquaman keeps his hair from catching fire. Thanks Gene!

For Further Reading: For more fan appreciation of The Composite Superman (no, really), head on over to my Hey Kids, Comics! blog where F.O.A.M.er Dan Hunter has an essay called "The Composite Superman and Me."

Aquaman Power Record

sg
Sadly, this book-and-record set from Power Records does not exist; this is a creation of F.O.A.M.er Tyrone Biljan, who is a whiz at these things. Using Nick Cardy's cover to Aquaman #50, he crafted this little number, coming up with something that I would simply kill to listen to!

And bonus points to Tyrone for using actual interior pages from the book for the inset, top right. Nice work as usual Tyrone!
