The Fire and Water Podcast: Episode 1

sgJust thought the Shrine would remind everyone, the first episode of The Fire and Water Podcast is now up!

F&W is a joint podcast, hosted by myself and The Irredeemable Shag, of the Firestorm Fan blog. I've been wanting to do a Shrine Podcast for a while, and Shag was kind enough to go in with me, making for what we feel is a fun, informative, and very nerdy show!

You can download the first episode above, and soon it will be available on iTunes, as well. We hope you enjoy!

Special Thanks to F.O.A.M.er Daniel Adams and his band The Bad Mamma Jammas for our super-cool outro theme!

Finally got to listen to the podcast today! And I loved it! I hope this becomes a regular feature, Rob! I know, that's asking a lot since I am sure it takes a ton of work. But I loved it. And as for the Who's Who podcast, sign me up as a listener. I loved the Who's Who comics and even the loose-leaf edition. So, I will be an eager listener.

Thanks so much!

I've been listening to the podcast while cleaning house. A few brief points...

1) I hate most of Judd Winnick's output, but he strikes me as a good choice to write Catwoman. So long as he doesn't do anything wacky, his darker themes and sarcastic humor are well suited there.

2) I thought Hal Jordan had the best costume, was the sharpest Super Powers figure and was just really interested in him as a kid... until I read the stories. I have very little tolerance for the character today, and came to appreciate Kyle Rayner as the Firestorm of the Morrison JLA. Powerful mythology and a slew of characters I like very much, but so long as they are subservient to Hal Jordan as THE Green Lantern, screw that whole franchise.

3) Barry is the best Flash, though. Not only was Wally a miserable character who brought nothing to the table, but he seemed like a surface level Silver Age Superman retread as well. I hate him.

4) Nice to hear the Blackhawk love.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but Hal Jordan 4 life! I was beyond stoked when he returned a few years back. Then again, Hal's my all-time favorite comic character.

My top three are Hal, Aquaman, and Hawkman. I was glad to hear Carter Hall getting some love in the podcast!
