Cover to Cover: Teen Titans #25

sg
This awwwwwwesome cover by the legendary Nick Cardy was another Cover to Cover suggestion by F.O.A.M.er extraordinaire Russell Burbage!

I don't think I've ever read this particular comic, though the cover makes me want to. Russell told me that Aquaman only appears in one or two panels, making this cover appearance alongside his judgmental JLA pals the Sea King's best moment in the book.

Thanks Russell!

Arthur's probably thinking, "Thank goodness Garth isn't involed in this case, sheesh!"

Rob, I can scan the B&W Showcase Presents pages with Aquaman on them if you want to see them...

Hmmm...I'm not even sure what that means, to be honest. What's important about that cover is not that Aquaman is on it but that Aqualad isn't. (Robin shouldn't be there either, as it happens). In short, Garth and Dick were not involved in this particular incident because they needed to remain in costume within their mentors' own books, while the rest of the Titans were forced to relinquish their heroic identities and sign on with Mr. Jupiter to become peace advocates. If anything, I suppose it made Arthur look good among his peers that his ward hadn't been present (especially since he was always against Garth hanging out with the other kids).

(That comment was in response to Rob's remark, btw, and not yours, Russell---we were posting at the same time)

Tempest-

I just meant that since Aquaman isn't in the story, then the cover is really the only thing worth mentioning on the Shrine, which is why I made it a Cover to Cover segment.

If Aquaman had been in the book more, I would take the time to cover the whole book.

Russell--Yeah, I'd love to see the page(s) in question!

Love the cover, but it promises so much more than it delivers! No real TT vs. JLA drama or action--we'd have to wait for the NEW TT to see that. And as others have noted, this moved the TT into their non-costumed/no use of super powers phase, another "What were they thinking?!?" decision. As a kid I certainly didn't buy comic books to see people in drab sweat suits running around NOT using their super powers.

Yes to everyone's comments... although as you probably guessed Tempest127, I was a *bit* confused by your comments. ("I thought I was pretty clear....!?!?" haha)

This did lead to Aqualad's punching of Robin in TT, though, so that was kind of fun.

Aaaahhhhh...got it, Rob; just couldn't work out what you meant. (Yeah, there's not much to do with Arthur in particular in that one). I rather like his blustery persona in other appearances in TT when he's being the stern authority figure and acting as Garth's big brother/protector. I could just hear him shaking his finger and advising, "Those kids are NOT your friends!"
