Aquaman Sea Sled Catalog Ad - 1973

F.O.A.M.er Brian Heiler sent me these scans from a merchandise catalog, part of a seemingly endless supply of catalogs Brian owns (which he frequently puts to good use over on his Plaid Stallions blog). For sale here is the Aquaman Sea Sled, a curious item that I am lucky enough to own.

I'm intrigued by the description in the ad, for two reasons. First, as you can plainly see, it does not feature "Aquaman & The Super Friends in action", unless you count disembodied heads as action. Sure, Aquaman is aboard his faithful steed, but the others are just looking around.

Secondly, I'm really fascinated at the idea these sleds came in packs of 12, in some sort of display box. Now that's an item I'd kill to see! I wonder if any of them are still around, somewhere? Hmm...
