Continuing the tradition of absolutely hideous Total Justice merchandise comes the cover and one inside page of the Total Justice Storybook from newest F.O.A.M. member Joe Huber.The cover is done in that lifeless 3D computer modeling style, and you can just feel the excitement!
Aquaman didn't make it onto the cover, but he is there on the inside page, taking on the new, uglier Despero, along with Hawkman and his Atomic-Powered Corn Chips.

At the time this series came out, I was so deprived of superhero figures that I loved Total Justice.
Kenner however, seemed to be trying to get me to hate it.
Same here. When I actually found these on the pegs I thought it was the 2nd coming of Super Powers. Boy was I wrong. Kenner had the Batman license for about 4 or 5 years before finally making some non-Batman-related DC characters. For a DC guy it was torture watching the endless number of obsucre Marvel characters make it into stores via Toy Biz. So anticipation was high for these. Too bad Kenner dropped "Power Action" for "Roid Rage".

Yeah, these are pretty hideous, but I have to say Despero is probably not the worst of the batch.
Despero was pretty accurate to the artwork in JL Taskforce, where he was appearing at the time. The worst one was probably Superman, with his "Stalone with a mullet" look.

I was starved for non-Batman related stuff too, and I think that's why I picked this book up.
In a non-collector friendly way, I disposed of ALL of the fractal tech gear once I got these figures.
What was worse than this storybook was the DC comics mini-series for this line. I stopped collecting that after issue #1.
all my fractual tech gear is in a land fill as well and you're completely right about that comic.
Like the rest I fell for this line hook line and stinker!
I still have a few of the figures, I sort of still like the Flash and Green Lantern from this series, but the Hawkman was beyond roid rage!
Am I alone in thinking that the Ed McGuiness inspired figures from DC Direct are this generation's Total Justice?
I still like TJ! Black Lighting! Huntress! Both better than DC Direct!
That book though... never seen it, and kind of repulsed by it, yet it inevitably must be mine...
