Another one of the way cool Top Trumps cards that were generously sent to me by F.O.A.M. member Brian Dixon (the mastermind behind Crimson Lightning), this time of the big man, Aquaman himself.
Like the Aquagirl card, the art for this is uncredited, which is too bad, since these are very nice paintings. Aquaman looks powerful and bad-ass here, tearing through the ocean at Mach 1 ready to hand Black Manta another humiliating defeat.

That's on of the coolest pics I have seen of him in a while. It's funny to me how long it took me to realize how different the Sub-Diego version looks from the classic one (aside from the obvious deletion of the gloves) Pictures like this make it really clear tho.
What i really like about this one is that the water hand is obscured. Never been a big fan of it, but i love the updated costume. So here, it's almost like the classic Aquaman in the new suit. ;)
Cool card regardless.
Very cool piece of artwork indeed. I don't mind the water hand (if he has to be missing a hand...) at all, and the Sub Diego era costume was a nice updating to his classic look without being completely unrecognizable. Nice post, rob!
I'm still not sure about "Aquagirl," but I'm confident this card's art is by Ariel Olivetti. The guy spent years toiling at DC on obscure books, first doing a Simon Bisley riff, before developing his current digital painting style. It seems to have gone over, as Marvel snatched him up for "Punisher War Journal" and started promoting him.
I can confirm that all of the art from the Top Trumps DC set was created by Ariel Olivetti.
cool, thanks for the info! i'll make sure to credit him when i post the last TT card i have.
