Convergence: Aquaman #2

sg

Comics Weekend "Deathblow" by Tony Bedard, Cliff Richards, and John Rauch.

Aquaman's fight against Deathblow continues:

This was extremely violent issue, even by modern superhero comic book standards, ending as it does with Aquaman caked in Deathblow's blood. I guess this Convergence iteration of the Sea King follows the storytelling rule about, if you bring in a hook hand in the first act, you have to use it by the third.

Love the Becky Cloonan covers for this series, I would really like to see more of her work on Aquaman. Two covers ain't enough!

I do wish DC would make more of an effort to match the tone of cover and interior art, if not the actual artist. Nothing against the interior person, but Cloonan's work is so much more my speed it's hard for me not to open up these books and be thrown for a loop. Tonally they're just completely different.
