Think they wanted to convey it'd been a "long time" since they'd been in their old HQ....except it'd only been two years in real life time since they moved into the satellite! Never mind how short a time it must've been in Earth-1's sliding timeline...
Reminds me of how they sometimes described, say, Superman's teen years purportedly being a zillion years ago, before we see/remember the characters are at the most in their mid-30s. (Yeah, my teen years *do* feel like a zillion years ago, but not exactly the Mesozoic...)
I was so excited when I tracked this down as a kid, until I realized I needed to track down #101-102 as well. Still, you can't beat the JLA, the JSA, and the Seven Soldiers of Victory (not to mention Metamorpho and Zatanna).
