Aquaman in Entertainment Weekly

sg
This jab at Aquaman ran on the "Bullseye" page of the August 22nd edition of Entertainment Weekly. An "Aquaman is lame" joke, really? What's next, making fun of Star Wars fans for being nerds? Really keeping it fresh over there, fellas. Besides, didn't you ever read my Aquaman Delcaration of Principles, which was printed in your very own magazine, back in 2005?

Isn't Entertainment Weekly owned by Warners? Someone needs to remember "corporate synergy".

What an unfunny joke anyway.

Great declaration, Rob. I might even say it was prophetic.

Boooo EW, you're better than that. These Bullseye "rankings" can be so arbitrary sometimes.

That's part of WB's problem---they don't really have corporate synergy/strong marketing skills, versus their rival Disney. Which would explain the over-reliance on Batman (to the point he's shoehorned into a Superman "sequel" to a film that felt too grim/Batman-like in tone), but I digress...

Yeah, I've been a subscriber to EW for almost 20 years, and I sent them a note about this. Not only are they trashing their own sister property, it's pretty pedestrian. And also lame. And untrue. :)

And haven't enough characters been ruined lately by the insistence that they be twisted into being "badass"?

I really disliked this EW comment. I like Designer Daddy's idea of sending a note. I am going to do the same.
