Splash Page Saturday: Aquaman #39

I know this isn't an opening splash page, since it comes in the middle of the book, but this double-page spread by the late great Nick Cardy is so astounding that it doesn't matter! Click the graphic to see a larger version, and simply marvel at the artistic prowess on display. I'm going to venture a guess that no other DC book published that month looked any better. Good on you, Mr. Cardy...

I pulled this out of my collection just the other day to re-read it. #39 was Mr.Cardy's last issue of hi run on Aquaman, anf he pulled out all the stops. The cover was killer too
