What a moronic idea to take one single panel from a created worked out page, instead of showing the complete page layout. And on top of it all a total lack of respect;no mention of the writer (Bob Haney) and the penciller/inker/letterer (Jim Aparo).(editing/colours by ?).
All to common on the Net: to forget to give credit where credit's due.

...you could learn a thing or two from "The Groovy Agent"

Read through past blog posts, pal. Rob has done more for our favorite hero than someone like you could ever hope to do. He's interviewed writers and artists who have worked on Aquaman comics. he has interviewed actors and voice artists who have played or voiced Aquaman. He has interviewed animators and directors of various Aquaman cartoons.

This blog ain't spitting on anyone's face except maybe yours.

...and the names?...

Let me take a guess, peckerwood: You bought the first two issues of Johns and Reis' Aquaman and had a thought rattle around in your brain: I'll make an Aquaman blog because NO ONE has thought of that yet!

So you do a Google search and of course the first result is the Shrine. And you click around a bit and you discover that Rob is one of the most hardcore, devoted, and dedicated Aquafans of all time, and that his site will forever be the standard by which such sites are judged. And that got you so mad that you had to post some lame missive about not giving credit? When you most likely know that the Random Panels are all just images culled from others posts with full credits always given? And that Rob has done more to make the general comic book populace more aware of Aquaman's creators than anyone else in the history of the character?

Do us all a favor and GTS -- Get To Steppin', punk.

Anonymous/Groovy Agent--you're the worst. This is a terrible way to promote your blog. I'm POSITIVE you're digging so hard for the issue number and credits so you can feature it yourself.

Anyway, this is an awesome and hysterical moment. One of my favorite random panels. And maybe take off anonymous posting, rob?

What part of "random" do you not understand? And of course it's Bob Haney and Jim Aparo. Any long-time Aquaman fan knows that. Whenever there is a question, Rob (or someone else) mentions the credits. You're over-reacting.

"Respect all the time" yeah, right. What part of "what a moronic idea" is respectful?!?

If you're trying to sell your (or your buddy's) blog The Groovy Agent you're going about it the wrong way. How about putting YOUR name on your posts, ya coward? "Credit where credit is due" my Aqua-ass.
Groovy doesn't equal rude.

By the way...I always hated it when Bob Haney tried to get all "Seventies Hip" or whatever the hell this is. "He's beautiful, man...!" is SO dated.

And Batman admitting fear? Hmmph.

Ironically, the Groovy Agent's blog features this quote on today's post: "read all about the behind-the-scenes in this fabamundo interview with Steve Skeates over at the awesome Aquaman Shrine)".

No,I am not The Groovy Agent.
Yes,I am most definitely a jerk.
But...still...always give credit...
writer/editor/penciller/inker/ letterer/colourist.
It's not that hard.
A simple matter of respect.
Peace and love,fellas.Love you,Mr Kelly.
p.s.Jim Aparo;wow!
Especially,imho,ca 1972-73-74.

Yeah,"ironic".The Groovy Agent lead me here.
And yes I am over-recting.
Sorry about that.
But still...credit...

Anon-

I am not deleting your first and third comments because I want people to see them. I deleted the second because it used the "F" word and we don't talk like that on the Aquaman Shrine. We have a sizable kid audience so we adjust our language accordingly.

I don't even know how to respond to an allegation that the Shrine doesn't give proper credit or pay enough homage to creators (check the list of interviewees on the sidebar), so I'm not going to bother trying.

If you had a genuine issue with any post not fully crediting every single person who worked on it (where does it end? The distributor? The truck driver who delivered this copy to the newsstand? The kid who bought it?), you could have brought that up in a polite manner, and it might have been an interesting topic for discussion.

But calling me names three comments in a row is a sure-fire way to get me to disregard anything you say, ever. And the fact that you are unwilling to sign your name to your comments proves that you are too scared to stand behind them.

NO ONE admires the work of Bob Haney, Jim Aparo, et al, more than I. This blog is one giant wet kiss to those guys, and if you can't see that I'd say brush up on your reading comprehension.

..he he...should be "-reacting".

Fun random comic, Batman just always keeps us guessing!

As for the rest, well we all know better. :)

I DO apologize for my foul language.
Most uncalled for.I am sorry.
But please,Mr Kelly,"The truck driver...".
Often (sometime) it's a writer collaborating with an editor, penciller, inker, letterer, colorist.
It IS not that hard to give credit...
Cheers!

Heh, yeah, once Rob calls him on the carpet suddenly the punk wants to be civil.

Anonymous- Have you ever even looked at this blog? When I 1st found it years ago it was a dream come true, so much AM information from past to present all in 1 place. I spent days going thru the posts with the CREDITS on the site. I knew that was Jim Aparo artwork-it's what I was raised on. I just don't understand why you would post and be so upset about the random panel of the day unless you never really have gone thru the site and saw what a great job and homage Rob has done for all things Aqua as well as the artists writers etc.

Dave said...

Also the random panel of the day is a fun thing for fans to look at and remember seeing it before or not seeing it and commenting on it. It's meant to be FUN.

Russell said...

I find it ironic that the jerk who says "credit, always credit" doesn't have the common courtesy to sign his own name so WE can credit HIM.

Ironic and also hypocritical.

Grow up, Anon. Please.
