It's Adventure Sunday!
Looks like that crook(?) in the middle has just sorta given up.
Anyway, in this adventure, Aquaman deals with one of his most difficult, intractable foes...an artist!
Aquaman leads Mason into a cave, where the latter doesn't need to worry about running out of air. Above, the crooks' ship starts to be attacked by various fish like sawfish, an octopus, and giant crabs!
The crooks climb into a speedboat to escape, and see Aquaman approaching alongside a giant airfish:

...and with that, so ends another adventure with Aquaman!
Wow, for this story the crooks' plan is so hilariously ill-advised I'm surprised Black Jack wasn't involved! If you wanted to keep Mason's painting away from prying eyes, the best thing to do would have been just to buy the damn thing, instead of stealing it and therefore attracting a lot more attention. I mean, these crooks have money for a cargo ship, a speedboat, and underwater diving suits, not to mention those snazzy suits!
To this point I have been extremely complimentary to the unknown colorist(s) on these GA Aquaman stories; I think the vibrant tones really give extra oomph to John Daly's already-solid artwork. But...I think they went a little nuts here: the neon green walls of the art gallery make my head hurt!
Finally, it's interesting (to me at least) that Aquaman wants a painting of the kind of stuff he sees every damn day...a wrecked boat, a shark, etc. You'd think he'd be into a nice landscape or Paris at night, or something.

Maybe to Aquaman, the underwater elements you mentioned *are* a "nice landscape" ("seascape"?)? Plus maybe seeing a surface dweller's take on his usual turf lends a different air to the artwork than if, say, Arthur had done it?
Re: Superboy: This month's story: two crooks from Metropolis blackmail a boy to pose as Superboy for a swindle, or have his ex-convict father's past revealed. Superboy finds out and fixes things.

Your keen artistic eye picked up on something I never would have noticed otherwise, Rob. You're right about those lime green walls. They compete too much with the foreground.
I say we cut Aquaman some slack. This is probably the first painting ever hung in the Earth-2 Aquacave. Let's hope it's not a water-color.
