Hello New Zealand from The Aquaman Shrine

sg
During my morning run, I was listening to one of my favorite movie podcasts, the slashfilmcast, hosted by David Chen. Chen just got back from a junket to New Zealand, where he got to see footage of the upcoming Tintin movie and even meet Peter Jackson!

Anyway, Chen was amazed to learn the slashfilmcast had fans in New Zealand, and his brother remarked that "you know you're pretty popular if you have fans in New Zealand", because the country is so remote. Of course, that got me wondering...

So I looked into the Shrine's hit tracking data, and found that, yes, The Aquaman Shrine also has fans in New Zealand! The Shrine had 71 hits last month from there, 15 in the last week. As the biggest, darkest circle indicates, most are from Auckland, which is the country's largest and most populated area. But as you can see, the Shrine has fan almost running the full length of New Zealand!

The Aquaman Shrine has grown in every conceivable way the last few years, with major growth coming in the last few months--undoubtedly due to the Sea King's much more prominent role in the DCU. I'm very proud of that, and look forward to see what else we can do to grow the site and make it even bigger and more fun for Aqua-Fans all over the world!

The Shrine issues a hearty hello and thanks to all its New Zealand fans!

I'd be the big light orange circle (Tauranga) just down from the dark one (Auckland). This is great to see Rob - maybe I need to stop in twice a day, rather than once to become the darkest kiwi spot of all ;D

That's awesome, Rob. Looks like the Shrine has fans in Christchurch, Dunedin, Lower Hutt, and Palmerston North as well. (I visited Christchurch a decade ago and have never forgotten it. Great food, great people, great comics shop...)

Kia ora, Dan!

is there any chance we could see more data charts like this in the future? i was always curious how popular aquaman was from nation to nation & from city to city. i always thought that he would have a stonger following in coastal areas with beaches where kids could go running into the waves pretending to be him commanding legions of sea creatures. if you're not interested in writing any commentary on them you could at least put up an aqua-data category for us fans to dive into.just wondering.

I'm not going to post too much of this stuff since its so navel-gazing, but if there's some larger angle to get into about the data then yeah I'll put up more of it.

I'd be interested in learning about other Shrine fans in Japan. You could start a penpal section.

I like that idea, MJ!
