Running in this week's books is this ad for Aquaman #1, showing the logo with some different colors than the all-white version we showed off last week.
While I do think the logo is a little on the dull side, I refrained from comment because I figured it could and would be colored differently, depending on the context, and that will make a big difference in how visually striking it is. Plus, the logo does have that slight curve the classic 60s/70s Aquaman logo had, which I dig, as both an Aquaman fan and a graphic designer!

I've noticed with a lot of these new logos, that they are "marrying" classic logos with a modern take. However, if you look at all the Super logos minus Action comics, they are carrying the classic 70s/80s look to them. While the Bat titles are taking the classic lettering with current or modern versions of the main logos. I agree, this could end up being changed color but it is a nice call back to the early days of Aquaman.
The color does help, but it still has a sort of "generic" vibe, to me. But, better than no logo at all, so I'll be happy with it. :)
Where does the QR code take you? Anyone with a reader that can share the URL?
One thing I do like about the Aquaman logo over many of the other new ones is how well it will work in context. While some of the others were generally more creative and interesting on their own, this relatively simple and solid logo will stand up better when paired with the (sometimes overly) detailed artwork on the book's cover.
But I agree with Joe... better than no logo. We're really just trying to kill time until the book comes out! :)

I'm really looking forward to this. I like the gradient that they used in the logo. It was probably there on the sample sheet but the white background most likely muted it out too much. I'm not going to quibble about it too much. I'm just excited that he's getting his own book again.
Many thanks, Joe! Always good to know where those things lead.
Can this be more awesome?!?! I think not.
Geoff JOhns + Ivan Reis + Aquaman = DREAM.COME.TRUE!
Oh, btw, the logo, with that little blue shade on it looks a LOT better than the full white one we've seen.
