The Argyle Sweater - 3/25/11

sg
Here's another comic strip appearance by Aquaman, again in The Argyle Sweater, this time from its 2011 desk calendar.

This is the (so far) third appearance by the Sea King in the strip, and the second where its suggested he has relations with sea life. Just pointing that out.

This was sent to me by F.O.A.M.er Anna Scherer, thanks Anna!

I think it's telling that this gag references his civilian name. Aquamaniana is really saturating the culture.

I like and I don't like it. I mean, would a joke with Wonder Woman and Comet come off funny? I don't know, maybe I am reading too much into a simple panel. Or I am too April Fool's Day edgy.

JBS--Nice catch, I didn't even think of that. I think you're right!

Joe--You may be over-thinking it. :) But, yeah, WW in the same joke would, uh, not be so funny.

Funny enough, I guess, but this strip is just a pale imitation of the Far Side.

I thought it was funny tying Aquaman in with the little mermaid.
