Breaking News: Emperor Aquaman, Ctd.

sg Courtesy eagle-eyed F.O.A.M.ers Joe Slab and Joe Mello, we have our first two glimpses at the upcoming Emperor Aquaman mini!

Both covers (seen below) were posted today over on DC's Source blog, with no other info provided. So for now this will have to do:

Aquaman in red and blue, and sporting a crewcut? I smell action figure variants!

Is it red or just orange reflecting all the fire below? In the upper image, it looks orange.

Anyhow, this looks quite interesting!

Could be, Joe, but since Arthur looks so different in each image (crew-cut, no crew-cut) I figure its a slightly different outfit. We'll know soon enough!

True, didn't think of the other differences, as well.

Artistic interpretation account for the differences. Arthur's Emperor uniform will be a deeper red/orange and grey/blue color motif keeping with the darker colors of the Flashpoint universe. I'm just wondering where the cool re-stylized Flashpoint "A" logo is?

In the top cover he's got a full-length trident and a full head of hair. Maybe Wonder Woman chops off his trident and gives him a buzz with her sword... :)

I'll admit I dig the high-and-tight. Why should Guy corner the market on that look?

Love the tag line for Emperor Aquaman: "He will drown the world, then rule it!"

RED AND BLUE??? I WOULD SAY THATS DEFINITELY RED AND BLACK!

The red uniform represents Atlantis military, this version of Arthur must have gone more milita than royalty.

Definitely more of a territorial command and conquer Aquaman by the looks! Depending on who controls the surface he just might have to be.

Ugh. That buzz cut is a little to military for me. Looks a little to neo-nazi???

And what's with the aqualad colors?

*sigh* a woman's take on comics
