Young Justice Figures Preview

sg
Courtesy Comics Alliance comes our first glimpse at the upcoming Young Justice line of action figures from Mattel!

I guess I should say lines, plural, because as it was announced in Toyfare (R.I.P.) that there will be two different scales of YJ figures--the standard 4.25" size, and a larger set, which is why Aqualad is going all Colossal Boy on his mentor.

I'm not all that jazzed on Arthur's bare-feet look, but I guess it makes sense, and of course I'm always happy to have another Aquaman figure on toy shelves!

Oi, why o why manufacturers are going for the econo Happy-meal & Barbie doll sizes? hasn't been a major consensus that the average is around 6" (no pun intended) set by both DC direct and Toy Biz/Hasbro?

DC direct save us the faithful collectors!

Rob,

The taller figure is actually a 2-up, which is the size they actually sculpt the figure. The larger scaled (6-inch scale) figures have more articulation, like the DC Universe Classics figures.

Now that Mattel has officially retired the Justice League Unlimited line, hopefully Young Justice will be popular enough as an animated series to inspire some 6" versions as part of the DC Universe Classics brand.

Heck, I'm still hoping to get my hands on a classic Silver age or Bronze age version of Aquaman in the DCUC format!
