As the alien invaders discuss what to do next, they don't see they are being spied upon by some the resistance. Aquaman is proven right: these beings are essentially jellyfish! They report back to their leader, Aquaman:

Aquaman and Mera do some more butt-kicking, only for Mera to turn on her husband when she has the chance, raving about their dead son. Aquaman tries to leader her outside, hoping in her uncontrolled rage she will tire quickly. But that doesn't seem to work:

Meanwhile, the resistance is making a frontal, armed assault on the royal palace, something the invaders' Atlantean cohorts did not expect. They retreat, only to find that their alien leaders have seemingly abandoned them! Very quickly they are rounded up by the resistance and locked away. Inside, we see that the aliens have succumbed to the poison gas planted there.

Despite this good turn of events, Aquaman is still fighting for his life against his wife:

The way Swan draws Aquaman and Mera, with all the detail in their costumes, looks sooooo tedious. Maybe that's why an Aquaman book never lasts long! :)
