Man Vs. Food Vs. Aquaman

sg
This still is from a clip from an episode of Man Vs. Food, where host Adam Richman heads to Oklahoma to, essentially, eat an absurdly giant pile of catfish. During the segment, he talks to the owner of the Steak and Catfish Barn, who brags about the sheer volume of catfish (over 1500 pounds!) his establishment serves up in a week.

This leads Adam to say this guy is on "Aquaman's Most Wanted List", resulting in this goofy--yet well-thought-out--graphic, featuring other people who would presumably also be on that list (no Black Manta?).

You can watch the whole clip here on YouTube, and the Aquaman bit hits around the 2:00 mark. It was sent by our newest F.O.A.M. member, Matthew Turnage--thanks Matt, and welcome to F.O.A.M.!

It's a strange thing, but most superheroes seem to be taken out-of-context when they are mentioned in popular culture. The existence of Black Manta is forgotten, and Aquaman is treated as though he were real and facing the real world, instead of inhabiting the DC Universe. Same with Superman, to a large extent. I think there's a thesis paper in that somewhere.
