I thought/think that David Cutler's comment was a paraphrase from an episode of the Dave Chapelle show, which featured the normally chipper Wayne Brady going on an orgy of murder, thuggery, and foul language.
It contains a great joke line, "Wayne Brady makes Bryant Gumbel look like Malcolm X." So I just swapped in some very whitey-white superhero names.
Its not particularly funny, I admit. But it was very early in the morning!
