As the cover indicates, its time for the teen sidekicks to take center stage in this issue of DCU: Legacies. But that doesn't mean Aquaman isn't around!
On the contrary, as this issue retells many of the classic events of 60s-era DC comics (the creation of the Teen Titans, the first meeting of the JLA and JSA, etc.), Aquaman is all over the place, brilliantly rendered by Jose Luis Garcia Lopez.
As they say in sports, let's take a look at the highlights:
Aside from the fact that this series is just plain fun to read, I think DCU Legacies is doing quite a service for the King of the Seven Seas: its showing newer readers unfamiliar with how integral Aquaman was--is--to the DCU. When you chronicle many of the important events of the past few decades, there's Aquaman!
Eventually, Aquaman will have to fade into the background a bit (as he did in the DCU during the 80s and 90s), but it'll still be fun seeing what writer Len Wein (DC, kicking it Old School!) chooses to highlight--I'll take any instance of Aquaman drawn by JLGL I can get!

If possible I think I like this issue's cover even more than I liked last issue's of the JLA!
That shot of the villains should be a T-Shirt. And I love that The Fisherman got the nod! So cool ... now if we could just get some love for The Scavenger.
However, on the "glass half-empty" side, while WW gets her place in JLA history and her original breast-plate back (yaaaah!) it appears that the Silver Age Hawkman is still languishing in limbo (booo!.
Why is it that none of these DC artists can properly draw the Aqualad and Tempest costumes these days? As much as I enjoy Garcia-Lopez' work, it's really annoying that Garth's appearance on this cover is totally wrong. If we ever see Tempest in this series, it's pretty much guaranteed that his once impressive uniform will look as bad as that horrid outing in Titans 15. Style chart, anyone?
