Steampunk Aquaman

This awesome "Steampunk" Aquaman is part of a whole line of custom JLA figures made by an industrious customing genius named Silof (you can see more of them here).

The thing I love about this take on Aquaman is that it combines elements of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (one of my all-time favorite movies, and a definite visual inspiration for my ideas on how to make an Aquaman movie) with the Sea King. A really beautiful figure.

I love the look of it, but ... I don't know. Aquaman's main "deal" is that he can breathe underwater. Unless this would be his OUT of water uniform.

I think too much.

It is, indeed, his suit for breathing on land. Hence his hair floating around inside it. Somewhere out there the sculptor has a website where he goes deeper into the thought process behind these designs, and mentions it.

Doh! I should have picked up on the floating hair! Okay, much happier with the whole design now.

I should mention Yoder (as far as I know) is not the designer of these figures. They're actually the work of a hobbyist who goes by the name Sillof, and you can check out more of his customs here:

The Gaslight Justice League photos seem to not be working at the moment, but if you scroll down you can see his Gaslight Legion of Doom, featuring Bizarro and Black Manta!

Wow that's pretty cool! Will have to have a good flick through his site later on.

Is that an air tank or a jetpack like Adam Strange?

Either way, it's awesome!
