SDCC Exclusive - JLA Vs. Starro

sg
F.O.A.M. member Chris Franklin sent me a link to Action Figure Insider, which has pics of Mattel's SDCC-exclusive action figures, including a JLA vs. Starro boxed set for the DC Infinite Heroes line.

This set marks Aquaman's debut in the line; sadly he'll only be available at the SDCC (for now at least). Back when I used to go to the SDCC I would've loved the idea of getting my hands on an exclusive figure; now it just irritates me.

Thanks for the link Chris!

Well, if nothing else, you have another entry for "The Ballad of the Yellow Glove" :)

Speaking from this side of the pond, Rob, from where attendance at the SDCC is for me almost impossible to imagine, let alone achieve, I find it IRRITATES me too.

But good for those folks who can go and do get themselves this splendid piece of merchandise, of course.

Yeah, I'll hold out for green gloves, but this is still very cool. It's a little irritating, but it's kinda supposed to irritate you into going to SDCC every year so it's working I guess. No one will ever split this set up, either, so Aquaman may never pop up on ebay by himself, separate and loose.

I bet we'll see Silver Age (green gloves) Aquaman on the pegs before the year is out. Still a nice set, though. I might have to try and get it.

I love the fact that the DC Universe Classics Aquaman figure (classic version) is so rare/desired that it's going for $75 + on Amazon.

Well, I would love that fact if I owned a copy of that figure. Since I don't, it sucks because I badly want it. I think that version is the best Aquaman figure ever produced and I have to settle for the lame long-hair variant or the what-were-they-thinking-blue-camouflage version

Looks like this set will be available on Matty Collector after the show (like that will be much better) The Matty set will not have the extra Starro Spores (Think Gleek from last year) Also looks like the price is 50.00 for the set.

I think it's cool that the package has a recorded message by Kevin Conroy. Here's the link:

The yellow gloves are accurate to the actual cover to Brave and the Bold #28.

While I'm sad that I won't be able to get the little Starro spores for my DCUC guys this set is awful tempting to pick up online after the show.

@Ryan-- that Aquaman is so rare, he's essentially the only DCUC figure not stocked at my comic shop, Silver Snail in Toronto. The last time they got them in, I showed up at opening to get one and they were all sold before I left. So glad I managed to get him for retail, hate to be plunking down so much now.

And still no Mera or Aqualad. Ah well, a boy can dream.

Im sure this is a precursor to a green gloved version of Aquaman. looking forward to getting a copy of my own.

That is probably the coolest set I've seen in a long, long time-! Too bad it's only a Con Exclusive. Maybe (hopes, prays) they will distribute it for real and the rest of us can get our hands on one, too-!?!
