"Tex Willer" Cards - 1970s

sg
These unusual little items are called "Tex Willer" cards (I'm not sure why), and were sent to me by F.O.A.M.er Tommy "Bat-Blog" Brookshire. Thanks Tommy!

They're a series of promotional/giveaway trading cards, reprinting panels from Aquaman's 1976-1977 run in Adventure Comics, drawn by Jim Aparo. They were produced in either Argentina or Brazil...so why are they in English?

I tried to look them up on Google, but didn't find much. So, for now, all we can do is look at them and appreciate how cool they are.

Wow this is great - and one of the reasons I love this site... While we pretty much get it all now, back in the 70's and 80's hardly any 'official mercandise' made it this far south!

Thanks for sharing Rob and Tommy!

What am I not understanding about that sentence.

Cool, indeed. And always amazing how 'new' Aqua-items turn up!

Tex Willer is the titular hero of an Italian cowboy comic. I'm guessing those cards came from a market in which Tex is a big deal.
