Brave and The Bold Activity Book - 2009

sg
A couple weeks ago, F.O.A.M.er Russell Burbage had spotted a Brave and the Bold tie-in Coloring and Activity Book, subtitled "The Caped Crusader" in a nearby CVS, and wanted to know if I had it.

I didn't, but since there's a CVS right around the corner from Aquaman Shrine HQ, I asked him to hold on sending it to me until I could see if I could just pick one up there.

So the next time I stopped in, I didn't find the book Russell had told me about--but I did find a second, completely different Brave and the Bold Coloring and Activity Book, this tone titled "Gotham City Limits." And only a measly $2.99!

Inside this book are almost 100 pages of pages-to-color, puzzles, and games, featuring Batman of course, plus his B&B co-stars Blue Beetle, Green Arrow, Red Tornado, Plastic Man, and Aquaman!

Here's some choice Aqua-centric pages from the book:

...I absolutely love how much Aquaman is part of the Brave and the Bold merchandising line. Usually, when some licensor has so many characters to pick from, Aquaman gets left behind, but on the show and on the tie-in stuff he's all over the place.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating: I think Brave and the Bold is going to do more for Aquaman than it will for Batman. After all, there's really nowhere higher to go for Bats, in terms of popularity and public recognition.

But of course that's not so much true for Aquaman, Plastic Man, et al, and maybe, just maybe, someone at Warner Bros. will greenlight a series where they're the star...

On second thought, YOU should get another one of these and send it to me as a fair trade for the one I sent you. Can ya do that for me, pal? :-)

By the way, I finally found the B&B Airheads at my Target tonight. I haven't tried 'em yet, though...

Don't get me wrong, I'm THRILLED to see Aquaman on Brave and the Bold... But why is he portrayed like Steve Reeves in a Hercules movie? I've never thought of Aquaman as a dim-witted braggart. He's really entertaining, though.
