I came across this on eBay, yet another rubber ball that looks only slightly like Official Merchandise.
The seller said it was manufactured in Argentina, no date, and was asking $100.00 for it. That seemed really exorbitant to me, so a few screen captures later and I at least get to show it off here on the Shrine.
If I ever saw this for sale again, but at a more reasonable price, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat.

Judging by the shading on the Superman logo, I'd assume this was produced around the time of his first motion picture, or at least during the years attention to that detail would matter (1978-82?)
Judging by the Aquaman logo, nobody bothered to reference an Aquaman logo. But hey, he got a background! In your face, Man of Steel speedlines! We gots fishies!
Aquaman looks to be based on the Super Friends model sheet too, so I'd say Frank's guess at a timeline is right.

I've noticed, while surfing eBay looking for photos of stuff to save for the Random Acts of Geekery blog, that Argentina produced a LOT of unique DC and Marvel character merchandise... most of the time, it's on-model enough that I figure it must be fully licensed (they seem to have a better handle on producing merchandise based on our characters than we do... they also produced an absolute kick-butt Speed Racer comic, so it's not just USA characters that get licensed the heck out of there). If my wife ever tells me she wants to make a trip to South America, you can well imagine I'll insist we go to Argentina as part of that trip, so I can see what's on the shelves these days!

I think it's funny that there are quotation marks around Aquaman's name.
