Skycap - 1993

sgThis cute little item was sent to me by F.O.A.M. member Shag Matthews, of an Aquaman "SkyCap", which as you can see was one of many.

The art is uncredited, though it looks like the work of Ken Hooper to me, who was drawing the Aquaman solo series at the time.

Its images like this that remind me that Aquaman frequently would get dropped from merchandise that featured only headshots, because pretty much only Superman is recognizable as a superhero without the benefit of a mask. Makes me appreciate it all the more when he does get included.

Of course, its that lack of a mask that, to me, is a plus in terms of making an Aquaman movie--you don't have to worry covering some expensive actor's face with a mask, or contrive some way to have it torn off every third scene, like what always seemed to happen to Tobey Maguire.

...what were we talking about again?

Ahhhh... POGs... errr... I mean Skycaps. What a great game that... no wait... they sucked. No wonder it never really caught on. :)

Agreed, it looks like Ken Hooper artwork.

I'm glad you could make use of my oddball collection of things!
