Colombian Super Powers Figure - 1984

sgThis was part of Kenner's Super Powers toy line that were (slightly) repackaged and released in Colombia (sorry for the lousy photo).

As nice looking as they are, these are apparently bootlegs, produced by a company called Gulliver Juguetes. They actually include something the Kenner originals do not--a poster of the character, which you can see folded up right behind the figure.

The main play difference between the two sets of figures is that none of these feature knee joints--other than that, Gulliver did a pretty good job replicating Kenner's spot-on sculpts.

For more info on these knock-offs (and the Super Powers line in general) check out the
Super Powers Archive site, which tells you everything you could ever want to know about the line!

You have to admit for a "bootleg" they look pretty good, and the packaging has the right character on it, not Spider-Man or Batman!

Isn't the drawing on the packaging flipped? Aquaman's hair looks weird, but it's been YEARS since I've actually seen this package....

Man, this brings me back some memories. I am from Colombia and I owned this figure like twice. I remember asking my mother to buy it for me, as he was my favorite character from the Super Friends Cartoon I began watching at the time. The quality of the figures was actually kind of poor and they always tended to lose their heads. If it weren´t for that fact I would still own it.
