Toyfare "Top 10" - 2008

sg
For the first time I think ever, an Aquaman figure ranks as #1 on Toyfare's "Top 10" hottest action figures list.

I was lucky enough to find the Classic Aquaman (and Black Manta) DC Universe figure at my local Target one time--and have never seen it again since.

So I don't expect to find this variant version any time soon, but since I refuse to make some eBay toy predator any richer, I'm settling in for a loooong wait.

It's the Aquaman who hasn't seen a swordfish in days!

Man, Aquaman is really moving up in the world.

As for DC Universe. I saw ONE Red Superman, once, at a Target 70 miles away. And that's it. In Atlanta, where millions of people live.

Come on toy companies, we want to give you our money!

My suggestion is to try K-Marts, if you have any in your areas. That is where I stumbled upon BOTH Aquamen, Black Manta, and Red Superman and Firestorm (Ronnie). I try them once a week now just in case. If I find another AJ, Rob, it's yours.

I've yet to see the classic version, heck we just now got the classic detective Batman from series one.

I really like the classic Aquaman in this series but I think the one pictured in this article is pretty lame looking.

When did Aquaman look like that?

from a post over at AFI, one of the Four Horsemen (sculptors) stated that this Aquaman is based style sheets that they were given by DC--read into that what you will.

Yeah, the classic AM looks WAY more awesome than that one. Still, Aquaman in the public eye is a good thing. Maybe we'll still see that Aquaman tv series one day....a man can dream...a man can dream....

I'm much more excited about the classic Aquaman. If I see this one in stores (yeah right) I'll pick it up but I was fortunate enough to get the classic version in a trade and am pleased as punch.

Glad to see him getting some positive press though, no matter how long his hair is.
