Batman Daily Newspaper Strip, Part 2 - 1968

sgThis is the next set(click here to see readable versions) of Batman dailies co-starring Aquaman that we started last week, courtesy F.O.A.M. member Jon Helfenstein.

Unfortunately, Aquaman doesn't appear in any of these three strips; instead we get a worried, sweaty Superman. Just as good!

Aquaman does appear in the next set, I promise!

According to "Curt Swan: A Life in Comics", Swan pitched in on some of the Superman figures during a sequence of the Batman strip. I'm not really seeing it here, but that Superman headshot in the bottom row looks somewhat Swan-like.

I bring this up because I know how much you love Swan, Rob. :-)

information is always welcome here at the Shrine, Chris. :)

and, hey, i thought Swan's work from the 50s and 60s was just great, and perfect for the time(s). i just feel like by around the mid 70s it started to get...tired.

Guys-

Have to admit, Chris - I immediately saw Curt's hand in the Supes faces & muscles.

But then, I'm conditioned to: the Swan/Klein Superman is THE iconic one, for me.

I'd agree, Rob, that his work could be a bit predictable towards the end; but then, so could Kirby's.

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but this story is crazy awesome.
