Definitely a bright, cheery image, courtesy of the Dodsons--Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis was blessed with a series of wonderful covers during its brief run, but none more fun(no pun intended) and light-hearted than this one, so it was a great choice for a poster.
Why this came out last week, just in time for the book to be cancelled, I don't know, but I'm happy for its existence nonetheless. Clear skies, Aquaman looks heroic, and the comely mermaids look suitably impressed.
Aquaman, mack daddy.

That is a beautiful image. Those Dodsons can sure do some great art.
I have got to get this poster. It combines two of my favorite elements... Aquaman, and mermaids. Awesome!
My problem: this was probably the worst of the non-Guice covers. Those Mario Albertis and the Rivoche were fan-freakin-tastic. Meanwhile, I want my damned Kevin Maguire Aquaman Classic series, and I want it fifteen years ago and counting! Dodson? Getting better as he continues to make his own way past Not-Adam-Hughes status, but Ryan Sook's already drawing circles around the guy with a career less than half the length...
While I dig this image, the cover of the previous issue, with AJ swimming amongst the ruins of the statue of Arthur, would have made an even better poster. I would have bought that for sure.
I'd love to see the Dodson's put together a Mera poster!
