Since I don't want my (imaginary) Aquaman: Cover to Cover book to be nothing but Nick Cardy pieces (though it could be), I'm making sure to branch out a little bit. Though I guess the inclusion of a cover by Neal Adams in a book of great ones can hardly come as a surprise choice.To me, this is a classic, iconic example of a Superhero Comic Book Cover--mysterious bad guys, good guys in trouble, and a gripping, ballsy problem that screams I gotta buy this comic to see how it turns out. The colors, too, are unusual and the tilted axis really helps sell the confusion and panic that Supes is obviously feeling.
So even though Aquaman isn't quite doing anything heroic here, it's still a great cover and one of my all-time favorites.

Be careful not to only feature covers where Aquaman is defeated! ;)
hmm,maybe we're seeing why Aquaman comics have never sold that well. :)
I remember the first time I saw this cover I thought, "The tide is coming in, which will revive Aquaman, and then he'll save Supes!"
