The Hollywood Reporter has run a story staying that singer/actor/Oscar winner Common has joined the cast of WB's Suicide Squad movie, playing an as yet unspecified role.
Considering that Black Manta is part of the current Suicide Squad book, and that Common is an avowed Aquaman fan (something the Shrine mentioned way back in 2009!), it doesn't take a huge leap of faith to suggest he's playing the Sea King's number one foe, which of course might also mean he's being set up to appear in 2018's Aquaman solo film.
Outrageous!

Wasn't Common cast as GL John Stewart in that never-made George Miller Justice League movie? If so, I think WB owes him a part in a DC flick!
Chris
I just woke up or atleast I think so. This better be a dream. Not Common! No! Not as Black Manta. Are you kidding me? To play the Scourge of the Seven Seas?! If they pick him I swear Im going on crusade to against every DC movie that comes out. Ill be like Jay and Silent Bob on this. I might accept him as Cal Durham but not Black Manta. Im just settling down on Jason Momoa and that picture. But just when I thought it couldnt get any worse--this! It better just be a rumor. It just better be?.
