Aquaman Episode 27 - The Sea Sorcerer

Aquaman Episode 27 - "The Sea Sorcerer" by Dennis Marks

In a remore cave, a mysterious figure speaks in tongues. We see it is The Sea Sorcerer who, with his Book of Magic, plans to destroy Aquaman. Spying on the Sea King with his crystal ball, the wizard conjures up a sandstorm--underwater!

Aquaman and Aqualad are nearly overcome, and then the latter is felled by the flickering, electrified tongue of a giant green dragon commanded by the Sea Sorcerer.
Aqualad is rescued by Aquaman, and the Sea Sorcerer disappears. Within seconds, Aquaman gets a call from Atlantis saying it is under attack by a fire-breathing dragon. After several attempts to stop it, Aquaman calls in a school of Blowfish who blow the dragon's fire breath right back in its face!

The dragon disappears, leading Aquaman and Aqualad to determine this is the work of magic. They spot an old man laying on the ocean floor, who claims to be the sole survivor of a land that the Sea Sorcerer attacked and destroyed. Don't believe him, Aquaman!
Aquaman leaves the weak old man with Aqualad while he goes off to search for the Sea Sorcerer's cave. After Aquaman departs, Aqualad is attacked again by the long-tongued lizard, and dragged into the Sea Sorcerer's cave. He uses his crystal ball once again to show that Aquaman has been forced by another sandstorm to search for cover in the razor-sharp coral cliffs.

Tusky knocks the crystal ball off the table, breaking it and the spell. Aquaman has survived, and he meets up with Aqualad and Tusky outside the cave. The Sea Sorcerer attacks again, but Aquaman hits him with a hard-water ball, knocking him and his Book of Magic off a cliff. Suddenly, all the nasty creatures disappear, meaning the threat is over. Aquaman, Aqualad, and Tusky head for home.

When telling his fish story to Aquaman, the Sea Sorcerer says he is from the "lost colony of Framistan" which sounds like a gag name on behalf of the writers. As villains go, the Sea Sorcerer isn't too bad, but he deserved to be defeated just for wearing flip flops. C'mon, man, show a little class.

"Framistan" -- was that not from an "I Love Lucy" episode...?

Well, that was "Franistan"... close enough. Funny episode, regardless...

This guy looks like he wandered in from a Bible cartoon!

I haven't seen this one in a while, but if nothing else it breaks up the formula of alien invaders/returning foes, like the Brain.
