I am with you regarding enjoying the Aquaman movie just because it is Aquaman in a movie. I have the same sentiment for "Green Lantern." Lackluster story and villains aside, I still enjoy rewatching the ringslinging effects, the design of the Corps, the Oa visuals and... it's Green Lantern in a movie! I have a ticket stub with the words "Green Lantern" printed on it!
The brilliant GL animated series more than made up for the movie's shortcomings (each episode of GLTAS is what the GL movie should have been...). Here is hoping there is an equally brilliant Aquaman animated series in 2019...
