And yet, I've always found Luthor to be one of the most fascinating and complex characters in the DCU. He's not purely evil. He's more like a proud mortal challenging the power of the gods, as in classic Greek mythology.
And after the bloodbath that was "Man of Steel" I'm certain there are a lot of "mere mortals" eager for Luthor to step up to the plate and go to bat for them against Superman and other "metas".
