Here's an unsung Aquaman writer, in my opinion: Gerry Conway.

He wrote JLA for a very long time and used Aquaman pretty well. Often, this was the only book Aquaman would be appearing in that month and Conway never shied away from portraying him well.

My most memorable moment would be the fact that he used Aquaman in the JLA/JSA crossover with the All-Star Squadron.

I recall Rodin Rodriguez being EVERYWHERE at DC in the early 80s. He really helped ground some of Infantino's second run on the Flash. In fact, I always felt his inking style was somewhat similar to Murphy Anderson; lush brush work, and a very distinctive, transformative style. You could always tell when Rodriguez was inking a comic. No stocking feet like Anderson though.

An unsung hero I can think of from this period (sometimes inked by Rodriguez) was Alex Sauviak. Rob has sang his praises, but I don't think he gets enough credit for his solid but exciting super hero work. His characters were always very on-model, somewhat like a cross between JLGL (PBHN) and Curt Swan. He drew Aquaman's back-up strip in Action at times, and I still dig his Mera in the black bikini.

On the Wonder Woman casting: I keep hearing "Why didn't they cast Jaimie Alexander?" While I agree Ms. Alexander would have been PERFECDT in the role...she's pretty much already playing that role as Sif in the Thor films. Plus, she may have been obligated to future Marvel films or other projects. I do like hearing Ms. Gadot has a military background. When super hero actors have some physical activity in their background, it tends to work out well. George Reeves was a boxer, for instance. Buster Crabbe and Johnny Weismuller were Olympic swimmers, etc. I'm sure Gadot will bulk up a bit for WW. My real gripe is the same as Rob's; This seems to be an Avengers-Envy project for WB. I feel sorry for Superman fans expecting a sequel to MoS. As more and more comes out about this movie, Metropolis is getting mighty crowded...

Shag, I got the Play-Doh ready. Bring on the Doctors!

As requested, here is my blatant self-promotion. You can find me at The Hammer Strikes (http://mjolnir-thehammerstrikes.blogspot.com/) where I post my thoughts on all things geeky. New posts every Thursday and if I don't have something to comment on, I post a retrospective on Walt Simonson's run on Thor. I hope you enjoy it.

(This is being cross-posted for almost-super pimpage*)

* Super pimpage would be "Hey, Jim! Whoa! That's a BAD outFIT! Whoa!"
