Aquaman Halloween Costume

sgsg
I stole this graphic from SpidermanCollector.net back around November of last year, and I've been waiting all this time to use it! I believe this is from a newspaper article on Halloween costumes, featuring Aquaman in the coolest super-team ever!

Coil Man?

Eighth Man? Who were the first seven? And I'd totally vote for Super President.

I never understood why they wanted to write the name of the character all over the place and why they'd put a drawing of the character (and a horrible drawing at that) on the chest rather than trying to make the body look like the character's costume. And don't even get me started on things like giving Aquaman a mask.

Does make you wonder what kind of marketing strategies were going on at Ben Coopers. Why do Coil Man and not Fluid Man or Multi Man? Why do The Impossibles at all when DC and Marvel had good super heroes? I'm sure the kid who wore the Coil Man costume had to spend the whole night explaining to everyone who he was. "I'm Coil Man! Like in The Impossibles?! It's a TV - never mind, just give me some candy!"

Not only was I a devoted viewer of 8th Man, the Impossibles, and Super President, I actually wore that Birdman costume on Halloween. This makes me feel approximately 102 years old today.

Eight Man is how I always called him, he was an android super-hero from Japan. I believe he had eight super-powers...but I might be mis-remembering him and I don't have time to get lost in a long, nostalgic search for his story on the internet. He is out there to be found, though. Similar to Astro Boy, The Vision, and Red Tornado, I'd say.
