This is the first show where I didn't have the comic to follow along with as you guys talked about it. I have FoF 2 thru...something, but I never found a copy of #1. It was still clear what was going on, and I think I must have had a copy of that issue because the "Firestorm asleep on a cloud" image sounds familiar... I wonder if the tone of this re-cap will change over time, like for instance I think we were suppose to like Lorraine at the time; it's only looking back at her thru the prism of time that we hate her, right?

I too felt cheated when I bought the newest issue of JLA aka Captain Marvel. Not feeling the love for DC lately. :-(

By the way, on your tumbler page the series is called out FoF vol II but that is wrong. This was the first series actually called Fury of Firestorm. I never understood that title, either, since Ronnie never really got mad. Prof Stein, hell to the yes, but generally not FS as a character....!

^DC was into those descriptors in their titles at the time, probably in lieu of picking up the numbering from cancelled versions, hence "The Saga of the Swamp Thing" and the ridiculously long "The Fury of Firestorm, the Nuclear Man".

Just out of curiosity, how come you didn't start the recap with the very first Firestorm #1?

Either way, I enjoyed the trip in the wayback machine. Firestorm had spotty distribution in my neck of the woods, but I recall enjoying the issues I managed to pick up. It will be fun to listen along and fill in the gaps.

I think I'm going to have to cave and pick up the New 52 Aquaman TPBs. I dislike most of what DC is putting out these days, but Aquaman seems a safe-haven of quality for us old guys who can't stomach DC's new direction.

I've tried to read Nexus many times, most recently the b&w collection Rude Dude put out a few years ago, but I just can't get into it. Great concept and costume, though.

Did John Bolton do back-ups for "Firestorm Classic," or was that after they went with pure reprints? I'd prefer "The Flashback of Firestorm, the Nostalgic Man."

Howdy guys! I just wanted to let y'all know that, despite not having read this run on the character (I've only read a small part of the first one), I really enjoyed this overview of the classic Firestorm book. I think that's a great direction to take the podcast. Thanks!
