Early Alan Davis from BATO! I wonder whatever became of him?
Yeah, I was just reading in BackIssue how Davis was told to spot less blacks for his American comic debut, and that the color would fill it in. He quickly learned this simplified look wasn't for him, and he turned into the Alan Davis we all know and love.
This sequence really got to me as a kid. It finally sunk in that the real JLA was never coming back. Sigh.

I'm with Earth-2 Chris; when I read this scene I thought, "The JLA is definitely gone." It rang true, somehow, but that didn't make it any less sad to think about all those years when the JLA really were Super Friends. Like breaking up with college buddies and never getting back together... :-(
