The 2012 New York Comic Con, Part 2

sgsg
On Day Three of the 2012 NYCC, I was accompanied by my pal Cory Drew, who volunteered to be the Shrine's Official Photographer for the day, since I was, as I was the previous days, mostly attached to my Ace Kilroy table in AA.

Cory had never been to a comic con of this size, so it was fun watching his amazed reaction to seeing these people he was such a fan of, sitting right there! "Is that really Mike Mignola?" he would ask. Why yes, yes it was...

But that didn't stop Cory from executing his Shrine duties. He took lots and lots of photos; here's a sample:

Thanks to the generosity of the Aquaman team of Reis/Prado/Reis and daCosta, the Shrine was able to grab a couple extra passes to the show, which allowed Cory to come along and be the Shrine's eyes for the day. And as you can see from the above pics, he saw a lot!

So even though he enjoyed himself, the Shrine still appreciates Cory's efforts on the blog's behalf. The con would have been less fun without him, so today we are enrolling him in the hallowed halls of F.O.A.M.! Welcome Cory!

Be back tomorrow for our NYCC wrap-up!

i love the creativity people put into the costumes. Really amazing. It has taken a long time, but it finally feels like the artists and publishers have embraced the cos players. There was a time when they didn't.

I *love* the Yellow Jacket and Hawkeye pictures. Awesome!

I've always wanted to do something similar to the Two-Face guy here. Maybe next year...!

More great pics!

Thrilling to see that Prince Harry wasn't too proud to show up at the con as a quintessentially American super-dude!

And way back there behind Bender's shiny metal a$$ is Lady Rainicorn, Fire Princess and the 2nd to Last Boy on Earth!

Very star-studded event, there. I'm jealous of youse guys.

You really should have told Boba Fett to put his arm down. He's blocking what I magine to be a pretty damn good view. :(
