This gem of an article about the nascent Super Friends TV show comes from a 1973 edition of The Monster Times. Apparently the writer was none-too-pleased with the show, as the write-up shows. Click the image to embiggen and see other snarky comments about the show!
I found this on the blog of Big Time Comics Pro Al Bigley, who is always managing to undercover cool stuff and posts it for all of us to enjoy. Thanks Al!

I always thought Robert Redford was a foppish Aquaman

Next stop: YouTube, to see if there are any available crumbs of the Lost In Space and Addams Family cartoons.
I wonder if that is the same Addams Family cartoon that Boomerang has been playing this month?
The article's presumably writing about the 70s Hanna-Barbera-animated "Addams Family" series, which is now entirely on DVD via the Warner Archive service.
"Foppish Robert Redford?" Ah, the 70s...
I know I should be more focused on the Super Friends/Aquaman reference...but "Uncle Festus"? The character is "Uncle Fester" or was there a "Gunsmoke/Addams Family" crossover I wasn't aware of?
HB did an Addams cartoon in the 70s, and those versions even appeared on "The New Scooby-Doo Movies". They later did a series in the early 90s, after the movie did big business. That is what Boomerang is airing now.
Super Friends isn't Masterpiece Theater, but it's no worse than 90% of the Saturday morning material of the same period.

All 41 minutes of the pilot of the Lost In Space segment of the Superstar Movie or whatever is on YT. It's actually quite bearable if you riff on it while you're watching it at 3 a.m.
"Robot, do we have a course deviation?"

That guy can fuck off. Feel freeto censor that.
