Aquaman Art Gallery: Ming Doyle

sg
One of the people I met for the first time at the 2012 NYCC was Ming Doyle, an astonishingly talented artist whose banner--featuring this piece--stopped me in my tracks as soon as I saw it in Artists Alley.

Ming was inspired to do this piece for Project Rooftop's Aquaman contest, of which I was a judge. She never submitted it, so it didn't appear on the site at the time--too bad, I would have given it very high marks! Ming's work is fluid yet stately, modern yet classic--I'd love to see her tackle a full Aquaman story.

Ming was kind enough to do an Ace Kilroy sketch for me while at the show, which will appear over on AceKilroy.com shortly. She didn't disappoint.

Interesting. I get an old world vibe out of it. Cool stuff.

I could see something like this in The Atlantis Chronicles, just from the style of the artist. It's neat and I like it.
