This half-page DC house ad for the JLA: Year One mini-series is the single oldest item in the Shrine's "to post" folder, in terms of how long its been there without ever being posted. I kept telling myself, one day, I'll get around to doing a review of the series, and that will be the perfect time to run it!
Well, I'm officially admitting defeat today--with so much current Aquaman content, I don't see myself ever getting around to this series, even though Arthur plays a large role in it. So let's just enjoy the ad for itself, okay?

This was a great series. Why Mark Waid doesn't run DC, I'll never know.
I have a poster of this ad. One of many freebies I still have from my college comic shop job.
I really enjoyed this series too. It was a lot of fun, and Aquaman was well-represented. Plus, it had the original Doom Patrol (one of my other favorites) highlighted as well. :-)
Rob, I gotta agree with the other posters here, JLA YEAR ONE is a great series. Aquaman was in every issue and had a huge role. You really should cover it, and add it to the list of series on the right column. :-)
Not covering it would be a big mistake, Rob. It's one of the highlights of Aquaman in the past 25 years. Heck, ask me nicely and I'll contribute a series of columns about it.

Thanks Rob, this is great!
Still waiting for the series' review though ;)
A great comic to be sure. Can't wait to see what else you pull out of the archives!
Great ad! Now I want to reread this! I loved it.
