Wow. Eight of Aquaman's worst enemies. Nine if you count the Un-Thing. Is that Cutlass Charlie or Black Jack?

Hmm, good question! I bet it's Cutlass Charlie. Would be *amazing* if Don Heck had bothered to make it Black Jack!

Great panel Rob. So her plan is to kill her son by building robotic versions of Black Manta and Cutlass Charlie? Wouldn't it have been easier just to shoot him? I'll be tweeting this one @thegeektwins later today.

You know, I never cared for Heck's stuff as a kid. I'm still not crazy about his stuff after his 60s Marvel stint, but I've seen his uninked pencils, and they are stunning. I think he's one of those artists who was rarely inked well.

I remember this story. Not to spoil it for anyone, but isn't the bearded guy next to Arthur a combination of Neptune or Poseidon with the memories of his father, Thomas Curry?

@Rick--You know what? I don't think it's either--rather, it's the equally obscure but more recent Captain Demo .

@Maurice--That was the plan, sort of.

@E2C--I'm right there with you.

@Randy--Yep.

Pretty sure my mother never told me "You must die!"

I eagerly await seeing all of these bad guys in the current AQUAMAN book. :-)

Don't recognize the two guys between Manta and Mom, though.

L to R:

Marine Marauder, The Fisherman, Black Manta, Sea Quake, The Scavenger, Captain Demo, Ocean Master, The Shark!

Russell said...

Is that the Scavenger? That would have been my guess.

Sea Quake?! Wasn't he a robot or something? How can he be one of Aquaman's greatest foes!?!?

...and you forgot Starro in the background. ;-)
