This was a great, exciting JLA/JSA crossover! And one of only 4 such pre-Crisis team-ups that Aquaman got to participate in over a span of 22 years.

We had JLA #101, the 2nd part of this 3-issue extravaganza, around my house for years; it came out when I was 5 years old. I don't know what happend to the bookends, or if we ever had them, but I think we did; I faintly remember issue #102. Anyway, #101 would get shoved in a drawer somewhere and I would forget about it, and then for several years afterward I would rediscover it now and then and sit down with it for an hour or so, and get excited about it all over again. I really liked it because the issue featured Wonder Woman doing super stuff (albeit the Earth 2 WW), and this was just when her non-superpowered, boring phase (to my 5 year old reckoning, anyway), began in her own book.

*or I should say, when it was wrapping up: WW's non-superpowered phase lasted for almost 4 years exactly, from 1968 through 1972; from issue #178 Sep-Oct '68 until #203 Nov-Dec '72.
