Splash Pages: Justice League of America #111

sg
This installment of Splash Pages features this gangbusters image by Dick Dillin and Dick Giordano, from Justice League of America #111!

Sure, this motif has been used before, many times in fact, but I still get a kick out of it nonetheless...there's something about the endless battle between superheroes and supervillains being represented as one giant game that just works. It probably doesn't hurt that I would (will!) have killed for an actual game with pieces that looked like this.

Plus, the way Aquaman is posed reminds me a bit of the way he was animated in the opening credits to Challenge of the Super Friends:

...and that's always good with me!

That's a very JSA-esque JLA image!
