In my recap of Aquaman #7, I talked about how much I loved this piece and how it has rocketed onto my personal list of Favorite Aquaman Shots, ever. As a single, all-in-one-illustration, this full page is in my personal Hall of Aqua-Fame.
With that in mind, we're putting it to you, the vast world of Aqua-Fans out there: what is your single favorite Aquaman image? Either leave a comment with title, issue, page, and panel or email us, and in a couple of weeks we'll compile the list into what we'll call The Aquaman Gallery of Fine Art.
Get going, Aqua-Fans!

I was just listening to the podcast where you talked about gasping when you turned to this page. I love it, too. Just amazing. One I would add? How about the one of Aquaman and Mera embracing when he returns from the dead in Brightest Day?
Agreed with what you said about this image in your podcast.
Another favorite of mine is this image from Aquaman from "New Frontier":

My favorite Aqua Image has to be Neal Adams' iconic pose for the 1976 calendar. Does that count? I actually do have it up on my wall....!
One of my favorite images is of the mid-80s Craig Hamilton blue costume Aquaman. Specifically the image they used for the house ad. It was the cover for #1, but the background was a single color. It really made Aquaman stand out. Beautiful image!

So many to choose from, it's hard to narrow it down:
From a pure design/composition standpoint, it's hard to top Craig Hamilton's Aquaman #1 (1986) cover.
Rarely has Aquaman been depicted as powerfully as in Alan Davis' cover to #17 of the 2004 series.
For its innocent charm and grace, I'll point to Showcase #30 and Ramona Fradon's panel of the creatures of the sea saluting their boy king, while Louis Cazeneuve's splash of Aquaman's polar bear toss in More Fun #85 is so goofy it's cool.
But after all that, I'm going to cast my vote for Jim Aparo's cover to Adventure #446. Although the main image of our hero throttling Black Manta is certainly compelling, for some reason it's the other drawings that captured my interest--Aquaman waving the flag to celebrate the bicentennial (part of an underwater parade perhaps?) and the tiny portrait of the Aquafamily in the masthead. It's this cover that got me hooked on the character.
Here is the Hamilton ad I was talking about:
